The very same thing happened to me. Your posting inspired me to jot a note about it on my blog (http://whathesaid.ca/2007/10/23/am-i-not-master-of-my-e-mail-domain/). It doesn’t seem to ever go away, but hopefully the effect will lessen over time. You may want to check whether your ISP implements the Sender Policy Framework (http://www.openspf.org/) on their e-mail servers. In theory, the SPF should prevent those sorts of return-address forgeries.
