This is going to be a bit of a lame post as I haven’t been writing lately. But I have been busy. I am trying to consolidate my life — one step at a time.
Today, I am the proud owner of YukonJen.com — the domain name AND I host my site myself. Up until yesterday, my good friend Waitman had been hosting it for me. Oddly enough–YukonJen.com was actually one of the sites that I didn’t host myself. I host a bunch of others, if I like the project enough.
Anyway. I updated WordPress. I updated this theme (Notepad-Chaos: a free theme from Evan Eckard). I moved all my content from Waitman’s servers to mine. I exported the WordPress database and imported it here. (Had a bit of a hiccup, but thanks to Dennis over at www.fastpipe.com), I got it sussed).
Regardless, Waitman, thank you very much for hosting YukonJen.com for the past five years and for your support. It’s been a blast. I’ve enjoyed finding my online voice and being authentic and just putting myself out there. I think being authentic is what it is all about.
Well. I’m back online. I’ll update you (for those who asked) on what I’ve been doing. Most of you know I took off from California last May. I wrote weekly updates this summer (eventually) except I still have to catch up on a few weeks I spent in the Yukon with my parents.
I returned to Healdsburg at the beginning of August to finish the second edition of the map project. I ended up selling both the HealdsburgMagazine.com and the HealdsburgMap.com project to Kenny Lowe–who I am sure is going to take them to another level.
By the beginning of September, we put one of the houses on the market. If you know anybody who’d like to buy a house in Healdsburg, California, send them this link: 781FlorenceLane.com. Furnishings and other personal property negotiable.
I’ve been working on my resume over at 9068Creative.com. I wanted to create a more interactive account of my work history. I still have things to work on, but it’s there for the most part. Like me–everything is a work-in-progress. Let me know what you think.
I guess I have to catch you up on where I am right now. Well. Last Sunday, I ran 10 km in the Lausanne, Switzerland. Since I haven’t been exercising regularly (enough), I did OK. I ran the 10 km in 1:07:31. I was 371 out of 415. I guess it’s a good place to start. I can always get better.
I have been here since the end of September discovering very Swiss things, like: Movenpick ice cream and raclette. Raclette with cheese that has barely any cholesteral–apparently from the alpages–(I’ll have to report back to you on that one) and well, more cheese. And wine.
I’ll have to run the entire marathon next time.
